Power Steering Fluid - Universal

Power steering fluid is a hydraulic fluid that transfers force in your power steering system. As the power steering pump is turned, it creates pressure in the power steering system. When you turn your wheel, this pressure is applied in the direction you turn to make your vehicle easier to steer. Over time, power steering components wear and break down, causing the fluid to become contaminated with metal and rubber particles. These particles can act like abrasives and accelerate power steering component wear. Changing your power steering fluid can help other parts, like your power steering pump, rack-and-pinion, and/or gear box last longer. Low fluid levels or worn out power steering fluid may also cause a moaning sound and difficulty when steering.
