Shop Replacement Oil Pan Gaskets

The oil pan gasket is the primary gasket that keeps oil from leaking out of your engine, and it seals the oil pan to the engine block. Oil pan gaskets can be made up of several gaskets that require sealer to join their gaps or they may be a single gasket that runs the entire perimeter of the oil pan. Depending on your vehicle, the original oil pan gasket may have been made of cork, rubber, or silicone, and a variety of replacement gaskets are available that can be an improved design over the original. Over time, oil pan gaskets can break down or shrink, and internal engine pressure buildup due to a clogged PCV valve can push outward on the oil pan gasket and cause leaks. If you notice an oil puddle under your vehicle, it may be difficult to tell where it came from, but checking the perimeter of the oil pan for signs of leaks, as well as cleaning oil and grease buildup, can help you determine where the leak originated. Checking your oil levels using your dipstick can also help you determine if you have a leak, but it will still be necessary to inspect the engine of your vehicle to determine its source will be necessary before beginning your repair. Low oil levels caused by a leaking oil pan gasket can cause engine damage if not addressed, so keep an eye on your oil level and top off with fresh oil as needed until you are able to complete a DIY oil pan gasket repair. At O'Reilly Auto Parts, we carry oil pan gasket sets, timing cover gasket sets, oil drain plugs and seals, and the right motor oil for your vehicle to help you keep your engine running as long as possible.
