What is a Fuel Injector Seal and O-Ring Kit?

Fuel injector seals and O-rings are used to provide a seal between the fuel injectors and the fuel rail and intake. O-rings and seals designed for use with fuel injectors are typically made of fuel-resistant materials, including polyurethane, to ensure they stand up to the pressures and chemicals in the fuel system. Fuel injector seals may dry out, deteriorate, and wear over time due to heat and pressure in the fuel system. This can lead to fuel leaks and a lean fuel mixture if the fuel leaks past the seal and doesn't enter the combustion chamber. You may also notice a drop in fuel mileage due to fuel escaping around the injector seals. If you are experiencing hard starts, misfires, poor performance, or if you can smell fuel near the top of the engine, be sure to inspect your fuel injector seals for any signs of wear. If they are leaking, or if the fuel injectors have been removed for service, the O-rings and seals should be replaced to ensure a lasting fuel system repair. A fuel injector seal or O-ring kit has the right number and type of seals you need for a complete fuel injector replacement.
