Ford Mustang Harmonic Balancer

Your Ford Mustang's harmonic balancer is located on the end of the crankshaft, usually connected to the crankshaft pulley. The harmonic balancer includes two metal discs with a rubber insulator between them and is designed to absorb and prevent the vibrations that the engine naturally produces as it runs. Over time, the harmonic balancer can deteriorate and come apart as the rubber insulator deteriorates. Signs that your Ford Mustang might need a replacement harmonic balancer includes the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley no longer aligning or being visible, if the drive belt is wearing unevenly, and a vibration in the engine, especially at higher RPMs. If your Ford Mustang needs a replacement harmonic balancer or the tools to install or remove a balancer, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries the right parts and the tools you need to complete the job.
