Ford F-Series Belt Tensioner

The belt tensioner on your Ford F-Series puts pressure on the serpentine belt to keep it from slipping. When the tensioner is failing, or if the belt stretches farther than the tensioner can compensate, the belt may start to make squealing noises, and you may notice abnormal belt wear or that your air conditioning or alternator do not work properly. If you have an older model Ford F-Series, it's a good idea to replace the tensioner and belt at the first sign of wear. Newer models have a set replacement schedule, which is listed in the owner's manual, but any signs of damage or wear should still be addressed and repaired. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries tensioner assemblies, serpentine belts, and other parts for your Ford F-Series truck so you can keep your truck running at its best.
