The cooling fan on your Ford F-Series is the electric fan that pulls in air for both the radiator and the air conditioning condenser. On some models, a separate condenser fan may also be installed. In the same way that the radiator removes heat from the engine coolant, the condenser removes heat from the refrigerant. The cooling fan assembly pulls in air, cooling both components when the truck is moving at very slow speeds or at idle, and is typically activated by a relay. Over time, the cooling fan assembly on your Ford truck can stop working, or it may stay on constantly, even when the truck is no longer running. If your cooling fan is no longer working, if your engine is overheating at idle or low speeds, or if the fan is working too often, check the wiring connector, relay, and the fan assembly itself, and replace these parts as needed. If your Ford F-Series truck needs a replacement cooling fan assembly, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries the right parts to get your Ford back on the road.
