Tire and Wheel Tools

You may never know when you might have a tire issue. Tire problems can be as simple as a tire that is low on air, or be as severe as a flat tire or blowout on the road. Be prepared for any tire issues by having the right tire tools. Tire tools can help you ensure your tire has the right amount of air, or can help you remove the lug nuts to change a tire on or off the road. There are also tools for more advanced jobs which can help you change a tire manually, install wheel weights, or reset and program your TPMS sensors.

Tire Pressure Gauges and Tire Chucks

Tire pressure gauges are an excellent tool to keep in your vehicle. If you believe your tire is low or a low tire pressure light has activated on your dash, you can use a tire gauge to get an accurate reading of the pressure in the tire. If the tire is low and you have an air compressor, the correct size tire chuck or inflator will help you put the right amount of air back in the tire so you can get back on the road safely. Tire pressure gauges are available in both analog and digital models for simple, easy tire pressure readings. You can learn more about how to check tire pressure in this video from our How-To video series.

Lug Wrenches and Tire Irons

No one wants to deal with a flat tire, but it is always good to be prepared. A lug wrench in your vehicle is a must in case you experience a flat tire or blow out. Lug wrenches can help you remove the wheel's lug nuts, so you can safely change the tire once the car is secured on a jack. Some tires, such as tractor, ATV/UTV, or heavy-duty vehicle tires, can also be removed from a wheel and replaced with a new tire using tire irons. Tire irons allow you to stretch the bead over the lip of the wheel one side at a time until the tire bead is no longer held on the wheel. You can learn more about how to change a tire with our helpful How-To videos.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Tools

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System, or TPMS, on your vehicle works with the computer in your vehicle to let you know if a tire is low on air pressure. Over time, the batteries in the TPMS sensors in the wheels can die, or the sensor can lose connection with the system. If your computer loses connection with a sensor, you may be able to use a TPMS tool to reset the sensor and reestablish the connection. If the battery in the sensor is dead and you have the confidence you can complete the repair safely, you may be able to recharge or replace the battery in the sensor before resetting the connection. If the valve stem on the sensor has worn out, you may also be able to repair the sensor with a TPMS service kit.
