What is a Fuel Pump Driver Module?

The fuel pump driver module controls the voltage delivered to the vehicle's fuel pump to maintain the optimum fuel pressure and fuel delivery to your engine through its full operating range. Fuel pump driver modules are typically located on the underside of your vehicle, near the fuel tank at the rear end of the frame. Over time, fuel pump driver modules can be damaged due to overheating, road vibrations, and road debris. A failing fuel pump driver module may cause smoke on start-up, stalling, rough idle, hesitations, and engine misfires. Also, if you have a modified or performance engine with an original fuel pump driver module, it may overwork the module and cause the unit to burn up and overheat.
