The fuse box contains the fuse block, which distributes power to various vehicle systems. Each of these systems, or sets of systems, are linked to the power source by a fuse. If an electrical short or voltage spike occurs in the system, the fuse blows to separate the circuit from power to keep from damaging the rest of the system. A fuse box helps ensure proper electrical system operation and can protect these circuits from damage due to current.
