What are Courtesy Light Bulbs?

Courtesy light bulbs are small interior lights designed to turn on automatically when you open your car door or trunk, and can be located in different areas inside your vehicle. In some newer vehicles, these lights are designed to stay on for a short period of time after the opened door or doors have been shut before beginning to fade out slowly. Over time, the courtesy light bulbs can burn out, or may become damaged. If you notice one or more of your courtesy light bulbs are not coming on when you open your door, only come on occasionally, or blink or fade in and out, you may need to inspect and replace the courtesy light bulbs. If the lights are turning on and off erratically, or if they aren't turning off, inspect your vehicle's battery and courtesy light fuse in the fuse box to ensure complete connection.
