What is an A/C System O-Ring and Gasket Kit?

The air conditioning (A/C) system uses O-rings and gaskets to seal the various A/C components and hoses and help prevent refrigerant leaks. The loss of refrigerant and refrigerant oil may cause your A/C system to stop producing cold air, and low oil levels could lead to an overheating A/C compressor or other A/C component damage. Nearly every connection in your A/C system is sealed using an O-ring or gasket, and these parts have to be engineered to stand up to the pressures, temperatures, and chemical contact they may experience. Any time parts of the A/C system are disassembled for service, replacing the A/C O-rings or gaskets is necessary to prevent leaks. Over time, the A/C system's O-rings and gaskets may deteriorate from heat and pressure, which can lead to refrigerant and oil leaks and eventually more serious performance issues. If your A/C system is blowing warm air, it may indicate low refrigerant levels, and one of the first areas to inspect for signs of a leak is a failing O-ring or gasket. When servicing your vehicle's A/C system, O'Reilly Auto Parts has everything you need to complete your repair. Find replacement A/C hoses and refrigerant, as well as complete A/C O-ring and gasket kits to get your A/C blowing cold again.
