Ford Escape Fuel Sending Unit

The fuel sending unit on your Ford Escape is located inside the gas tank and uses a lever, a resistor, and a float to measure how much fuel is left in the tank. This information is sent to the fuel gauge or to the computer, depending on the design of your Escape to ensure you always know how much fuel you have left. Since the fuel sending unit is constantly exposed to gasoline and gas vapors, it can corrode or wear out with time or the float may fill with fuel and sink to the bottom of the tank. If the gas gauge on your Escape always reads empty or full, or if it seems stuck in one position, the fuel sending unit may need to be replaced. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries fuel sending units, fuel pumps, and other fuel system parts for your Ford Escape to help you make your repairs.
