Toyota Tacoma Fuel Sending Unit

The fuel sending unit is found inside the gas tank of your Toyota Tacoma and contains a float, a lever, and a resistor to measure the level of fuel that remains in the tank. As the fuel level changes, the float rises and falls and moves the lever, changing the position of the resistor and altering the electrical signals sent to your fuel gauge. Since the sending unit is constantly exposed to gasoline and fuel vapors, it can corrode over time and fail.
