Ford F-Series Throttle Position Sensor
Your Ford F-Series' throttle position sensor, or TPS, monitors the throttle body butterfly valve to help the engine computer control the fuel and air mixture. If this sensor fails, the computer on your Ford doesn't know how much air is passing through the valve, so it cannot correctly calculate the right fuel and air ratio. If the TPS sensor on your Ford is failing, you might experience a rough or erratic idle or choking on acceleration.
