Ford Mustang Throttle Body

The throttle body installed on your Ford Mustang adjusts the amount of air flowing into your engine, and regulates it by opening and closing its butterfly valve with the position of your Mustang's accelerator pedal. Depending on age, the throttle body may accumulate carbon deposits or debris causing the valve to stick, or to block or limit airflow. If your Mustang is experiencing misfires and poor combustion, it may indicate an incorrect fuel mixture due to a lack of air or a stuck butterfly valve. A failure in the throttle or accelerator position sensor may also send false signals to your vehicle's computer and cause it to engage limp mode or activate a Check Engine light warning. If your Mustang has loss of performance, rough idle, stalling, or poor accelerator response, check your throttle body, butterfly valve, and related sensors. Cleaning the throttle body can sometimes improve airflow, but in some cases it may need to be replaced or rebuilt. When you need to service the throttle body on your Ford Mustang, O'Reilly Auto Parts has throttle body replacements, throttle body repair kits, cleaners, and sensors for a complete repair.
