Ford F-Series Fuel Sending Unit

The fuel sending unit on your Ford F-Series is found inside the fuel tank, and includes a lever and float mechanism that measures the amount of fuel left in the tank. In newer models, the fuel sending unit may be built into the electric fuel pump. Fuel sending units and floats are constantly exposed to gas fumes or are immersed in gasoline, which means that they can be damaged or stop working. The float may also wear out and fill with fuel, causing it to sink to the bottom of the tank and provide inaccurate readings. If the fuel gauge on your Ford truck is stuck at full or empty, or if the gauge only goes to a certain point, such as half full, and won't move past that mark, the fuel sending unit may have reached the end of its service life. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries fuel sending units for your Ford F-Series to restore your confidence in your truck.
