Chevrolet Blazer Differential Cover Gasket

The differential cover gasket for your Chevrolet Blazer seals the opening of the differential to ensure the ring and pinion gears remain lubricated. Differential covers can be removed to allow the differential to be serviced, and the gasket should always be replaced if this part has been separated from the axle housing. With time, the differential cover gasket can wear out and begin leaking gear oil. A faulty differential cover gasket may be one cause for oil leaks at the back of your Blazer. If a lot of gear oil has already leaked from the housing, you may hear whining or howling from the rear end. This can mean you have low fluid levels and the noise is caused by metal on metal contact between the gears, which can accelerate wear. It is important to fix this as soon as possible to keep the differential from being damaged extensively. Shop O'Reilly Auto Parts for a replacement differential gasket, axle seals and bearings, and other parts to repair your Chevrolet Blazer.
