Ford Mustang Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid

The variable valve timing (VVT) system on your Ford Mustang's engine changes the valve duration to ensure consistent performance using VVT solenoids and actuators. When the engine in your Mustang is under a load, the VVT solenoid sends pressurized oil to the VVT actuators on the camshafts to increase the amount of time the valves are open to generate more power. When the engine oil is dirty, the solenoid may clog and can't deliver the oil to the actuator easily, causing the actuator to fail to activate.
