Ford Mustang Transmission Mount
The transmission mount on your Ford Mustang secures the transmission to the frame of the car. Transmission mounts also absorb vibration and shock to isolate the transmission from the frame and cabin as you drive. Transmission mounts are designed similarly to motor mounts, which use two metal plates with a rubber insulator in between to support the powertrain. With time the rubber can break down and separate.
