Ford F-Series Harmonic Balancer

Your Ford F-Series' harmonic balancer is found attached to the crankshaft and crankshaft pulley and prevents and absorbs the vibrations that the crankshaft creates as it moves. Harmonic balancers are made up of a central metal housing that the crankshaft pulley bolts to, a rubber ring, and a metal outer ring, and often display the timing marks for the engine. Over time, the rubber deteriorates, and it can break apart or separate from your Ford's harmonic balancer. If the engine in your Ford F-Series has a severe vibration, if you can see the rubber pulling away from the center housing, or if the timing marks have worn off, the harmonic balancer should be replaced. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries harmonic balancers for your Ford F-Series truck and the harmonic balancer removal and installation tools you need to get the job done.
