A coolant outlet flange provides a path for coolant to travel throughout the cooling system for lubrication and cooling inside the engine. Coolant outlet flanges often have multiple outlets that send coolant to the radiator, heater core, or other parts of the cooling system for proper circulation. A coolant outlet flange is similar to a thermostat housing outlet where it may only have a single outlet but is used in areas without a thermostat.
