Ford Focus Thermostats

The thermostat on your Ford Focus controls the flow of coolant from the engine to the radiator. Thermostats are designed to open and close at certain set temperatures to regulate the temperature of the coolant. If the thermostat on your Focus sticks open, it can cause the engine to heat up very slowly or not at all, and can affect the heater and engine performance. If the thermostat on your Focus fails to open or if it won't stay open, the coolant won't be able to move to the radiator and the engine can overheat, causing damage to the internal engine parts and gaskets. In some cases the thermostat may act erratically, and you may notice the temperature in your Focus varying more than usual.
