What is an Engine Oil Cooler Line Connector?

The engine oil cooler maintains the optimal temperature range for the engine oil by using air or coolant to dissipate heat from the oil. An engine oil cooling line is a hose or hard line that connects the oil cooler to the engine, circulating oil between the two parts and allowing the oil to be cooled. The engine oil cooler line connector securely attaches the oil cooler line to the oil cooler to prevent leaks and ensure oil pressure can be maintained in the system. If you notice oil leaks around the cooler or line, or if you believe coolant is mixing into the oil, check your engine oil cooler line connector for breaks or damage. Coolant in the oil supply can also be the result of a blown head gasket, so it is important to complete a diagnosis of your oil cooling system before beginning your repair to ensure it is the source of the problem. If you need engine oil cooler lines or hoses, connectors, or gaskets, check out the selection at O'Reilly Auto Parts to help complete your repair.
