Ford F-Series Cooling Fan Clutch

If you have an older model Ford F-Series truck, it might have a cooling fan clutch which will engage the cooling fan at a set temperature to be driven by the water pump pulley. The fan clutch then decouples once the temperature is at the appropriate level to keep the fan from being powered, usually when driving as air can pass through the radiator without the fan's assistance. Over time, the fan clutch can wear out and stop working, and may not engage the fan or may cause it to always be running. Common signs that the fan clutch in your Ford truck may need to be replaced include overheating, a very loud fan noise, especially at idle, or a lack of power. If your Ford F-Series truck needs a replacement fan clutch, thermostat, or water pump, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries the right cooling system parts to keep it running at its best.
