2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Pitman Shaft Bearing
The steering gear sector shaft, also known as the pitman shaft, connects the pitman arm to the steering gear box, which allows the driver to control the direction of the wheels. The steering gear pitman shaft bearing allows the shaft to turn and rotate with the pitman arm while preventing harmful metal-on-metal contact. If you notice grinding noises from below your steering column or leaking fluid around the pitman shaft or arm, check the seals and bearings. If you need replacement steering or gear box parts, check out O'Reilly Auto Parts and browse our selection to find the right fit for your car, truck, or SUV.
