The universal joint or U-joint is installed in your Chevrolet Blazer's driveshaft and allows it to change angles without binding as the vehicle drives over rough terrain or bumps and the suspension moves. Most newer vehicles have U-joints that are greased from the factory and can't be easily serviced. Over time, grease may dry out or leak from the U-joint, causing the joint to wear rapidly and loosen. The most common sign that your Blazer's U-joints are going bad is a clicking or clunking noise when shifting out of park. You might also hear clicking and squeaking noises or feel vibrations beneath the seat while driving. These issues could eventually cause the driveshaft to separate from your vehicle, which may cause damage to the transmission, differential, or the driveshaft and leave your car stranded. Shop O'Reilly Auto Parts for new U-joints for your Chevrolet Blazer to make your repair and drive without worry.
