2012 Chevrolet Traverse - Flywheel Bolt
The flywheel transfers power from the engine to the pressure plate and clutch disc in vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. The flywheel is attached to the crankshaft using bolts or nuts. Because of the amount of torque and power transferred through the flywheel, a flywheel bolt has to be extremely strong. In addition to receiving power from the engine, the flywheel is also geared to the starter, which turns the flywheel to start the engine. If you are replacing or servicing your clutch or flywheel, check the condition of the flywheel bolts or nuts. If they are corroded or the threads are damaged, it may be best to replace them. If you need flywheel or flexplate bolts, clutch kits, or other parts for your transmission repairs, shop O'Reilly Auto Parts.
