Ford F-Series CV Axle Shaft

The CV shaft on the front of your Ford F-Series transfers power from the transaxle to the hubs. The CV shaft has CV joints on both ends which allow it to rotate without binding even as the suspension on your truck moves or as the wheels turn. The CV joints are covered with a rubber boot to keep grease inside and keep debris out. If you notice dark grease on the inside of the wheel, the CV axle boot or the joint may be worn out.
