2007 Jeep Wrangler - Tie Rod Boot
A tie rod boot fits over the stud on the tie rod end to keep dust and debris out of the grease. With age or wear, it is possible the boot may be damaged or torn, allowing dirt into the grease. If replacing your tie rod is not possible, you may be able to clean it well, grease it, and install a new tie rod boot. A tie rod boot simply slips over the stud. The tie rod must be removed from the spindle, but this would not require the car to be aligned after the repair. A tie rod boot is a quick fix to avoid further damage to your tie rod. Shop O'Reilly Auto Parts for the tie rod boot, ball joints, or other suspension parts you need for your repair.
