1994 Geo Metro - Leaf Spring Bumper

Leaf springs are placed above or below a vehicle's axle. When your vehicle bounces, the leaf spring could compress enough that the spring or axle could hit the bottom of the vehicle, causing damage. To prevent this, a leaf spring bumper attaches to the frame to provide a cushion for the spring or axle to come into contact with and to avoid damage to the underside of the vehicle.
