The torsion bar is part of the suspension system that is connected to the vehicle body and the lower suspension arm. It is a metal rod that acts as a flexible spring to restore normal drive height after the wheels pass over bumps. Over time, torsion bars can rust, crack, or be damaged by impacts on the undercarriage. This can cause a rougher ride, suspension noise over bumps, or sagging.
