The sway or stabilizer bar on your Ford Focus keeps the two sides of the suspension balanced and tethered together, helping to prevent sway you might otherwise feel when making turns. The sway bar links connects the sway bar to the control arm on your Focus. Sway bar links usually have a straight rod with bushings around the control arm and the sway bar, or it may be a Z-shaped bar that has studs or bushings on the ends. Sway bar links can wear out over time, and may allow more play in the bushings or joints of the link. If the sway bar link on your Focus fails, it can cause a clunking noise from the suspension when turning or going over bumps, and handling can suffer. You may also notice excessive sway or body roll from your Focus when turning at higher speeds. If your Ford Focus needs a replacement sway bar link, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries all the suspension parts required for a full repair on your Focus.
