The sway bar or anti-roll bar on your Chevrolet Impala reduces body roll in your car and stabilizes the suspension when you're cornering. It usually connects to the two lower control arms, and the sway bar is then fixed to the frame with a sway bar bushing. The sway bar bushing is made of rubber, and it fits the sway bar to avoid direct contact with the frame while keeping the bar tight. There are sway bar bushings that can be greased, but the majority of bushings are not serviceable and can wear out with time. When the sway bar bushings on your Impala wear out, you may notice a squeaking or groaning noise whenever you drive over bumps or take a hard turn. This can cause delayed sway bar activation and result in additional body roll as well. Ensure you inspect your sway bar bushings and links to see if they need to be replaced to maintain your car's handling. If you need new sway bar bushings or links, O'Reilly Auto Parts carries the right suspension parts for your Chevrolet Impala so you can keep your car driving like new.
