What is an Alignment Control Arm?

The control arms in your vehicle act as the link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub. Control arms are the core of the front suspension in your vehicle, and connect the front wheels to your car's body. One end of the control arm connects to the wheel spindle or knuckle, and the other connects to the vehicle's frame. They allow for vertical movement while holding the knuckles, spindles, and axles securely in place. After replacing or repairing any suspension components, or changing your vehicle's ride height, it is important to ensure your vehicle is aligned properly. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries alignment control arms designed to allow a greater range of adjustment to correct problems such as steering and drifting while steering. These problems may be caused by a worn or damaged control arm or control arm bushings, or can occur from poor alignment, an accident, customization, or lack of component adjustability. Properly functioning and adjusted control arms are necessary to keep you and your vehicle safe on the road. If you need to replace or upgrade your control arms, or need replacement control arm bushings, shop O'Reilly Auto Parts. We carry adjustable alignment control arms that ensure correct alignment even after vehicle modifications or upgrades.
