Honda Accord Starter

The starter in your Honda Accord is an electric motor that spins the engine on startup when it engages the flywheel. This motor uses a bendix gear, which is a shaft that spins and only extends when it meshes with the starter gear. Some starters have a built-in solenoid that sends voltage to the starter to make it work, while others are external. Solenoids and starters wear out with time, and should be well-maintained. If the engine doesn't turn over and only clicks, it could be a dead battery, the starter motor could have failed, or is weak. If the starter spins but the motor doesn't, the bendix may not be engaging. O'Reilly Auto Parts has starter motors, solenoids, and other parts to keep your Honda Accord starting reliably.
