Vehicles equipped with a foot-operated parking brake use a release rod or cable to raise the pedal and release the brake. The release rod or cable includes a handle at the end to make it easier to pull. When the handle is pulled, the parking brake is released and your vehicle can be driven. Parking brake release handles are often made of plastic, and may wear out with use. This can cause the handle to disconnect from the parking brake release rod or cable, making it difficult to release the parking brake.
