What is a Disc Brake Hardware Kit?

Disc brake hardware kits include all the brake pad hardware needed for a complete brake job, such as abutment clips and anti-rattle clips, to help prevent brake noise and abnormal brake pad wear. Many brake pads include replacement disc brake hardware, but even if it's not included, it's still a good idea to replace and grease the hardware during every brake job. Over time, brake pad hardware can wear out, corrode, or rust, which can prevent the pads from moving as easily as is necessary for efficient braking. If the brake pads stick or bind due to corroded or damaged disc brake hardware, it may lead to brake squealing, grinding, poor brake pedal feel, brake drag, and uneven braking pressure. When changing your brake pads, it's important to also pick up the replacement disc brake hardware you need to ensure your new pads and rotors last as long as possible. For a complete brake repair, shop O'Reilly Auto Parts, where we carry brake pads, brake rotors, and brake hardware kits for most vehicles.
