The air conditioning (A/C) clutch coil produces an electromagnetic field that engages the clutch when it is activated to receive power from the compressor pulley. This allows the compressor to build the pressure necessary to operate the air conditioning system. The A/C clutch connector receives power from the A/C relay, climate control switch, or the A/C pressure switch to engage and disengage the clutch as needed for proper air conditioning cycling.
