Ford Focus Blower Motor Resistor

The blower motor resistor on your Ford Focus controls the speed of the blower motor. When you adjust the fan speed in your Focus, the blower motor resistor alters the electrical resistance to control the amount of power that is sent to the blower motor. Blower motor resistors also generate a lot of heat, and may be supplied with a heat sink to prevent failure. Since both the blower motor resistor and the blower motor on your Focus are working nearly any time you drive, both parts can wear out with time. If the blower motor on your Ford Focus only works on certain speeds or if it is stuck on one speed, the blower motor resistor may have failed. Check the condition of the blower motor resistor and look for damage to the circuit tracks or burned sections to confirm that it needs to be replaced. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries replacement blower motor resistors for nearly every Ford Focus on the road to help you make a complete repair.
