Replacing a Blower Motor Resistor Connector

The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning blower motor resistor connector is an electrical component used to connect power from the vehicle's electrical system through the wiring harness and to the blower motor resistor. Blower motor resistors control the blower motor's speed by altering the amount of electrical resistance and current flowing to the blower motor when the fan speed is adjusted on the dash. Over time, the blower motor resistor connector may become worn, loose, or corroded, and this can prevent the blower motor from receiving adequate power to operate. If your blower motor has stopped working, check the blower motor and resistor connector for any damage. A bad connector or melted plug can prevent the blower motor from operating, but the resistor, motor, or fan switch could also be to blame, so ensure a complete diagnosis before beginning your repair. When you need to fix your vehicle's heating and A/C system, shop O'Reilly Auto Parts for the right blower motor resistors and connectors to help you complete your repair.
