Ford Escape Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

The ambient air temperature sensor or outside air sensor on your Ford Escape is often located near the grille and provides temperature readings to the engine computer. This information is then used to display the temperature on the dash, rearview mirror, or overhead panel. While the ambient air sensor can read several degrees off due to heat from the road or the engine, when the sensor fails, it typically gives wildly inaccurate readings. If the outside temperature isn't displaying at all, check the fuses. If the reading is very inaccurate, such as 50 below zero or 150 degrees above, the ambient air temperature sensor may need to be replaced. O'Reilly Auto Parts carries ambient air temperature sensors for your Ford Escape to help you keep your displays working at their best.
