2007 Jeep Wrangler - Air Conditioning Valves
Replacement Air Conditioning Valves
Valves in the air conditioning system allow you to perform diagnostics, repairs, and recharging, and also help keep refrigerant moving to ensure the cabin remains cool. There are two different types of valves in the air conditioning system; compressor control valves regulate refrigerant and oil moving through the system, and service valves allow the system to be serviced and recharged. If any of these valves are damaged, it may prevent your A/C system from working properly, or could even make it difficult or impossible to recharge the system with refrigerant. Find the A/C valves you need to repair and service the air conditioning in your vehicle.
A/C Control Valves
Air conditioning control valves control the flow of refrigerant and oil through the system to keep the evaporator at a constant temperature. These valves are designed to keep the refrigerant in the evaporator just above freezing temperatures to achieve optimal performance and cooling from the A/C system. If the A/C control valve fails, refrigerant can flow incorrectly and cause the evaporator to become too hot or too cold, causing the A/C to not work properly. This may not only cause a loss of A/C performance, but can also lead to compressor damage or other system failures.
A/C Service Valves
The service valves in an A/C system allow the system to be serviced and recharged when needed. Inside the service valves are valve cores, also known as Schrader valves, which are common one-way valves found in the A/C system. The valves are popular because they remain closed until opened with a tool, and are designed to seal the system against leaks when not being used. Inside the valve core is a pin which allows refrigerant and oil into the system. If the service valves or valve cores are worn or damaged, they should be replaced quickly to prevent complete refrigerant loss or the introduction of moisture or other contaminants into the A/C system.
