The pressure switches are designed to activate the valves to allow refrigerant to move from one side of the system to the other, and to help prevent any pressure issues that could damage the compressor. If a pressure switch is failing, the A/C clutch or other parts of the system may begin turning off and on rapidly, the system may not be able to adequately cool the cabin of the vehicle, or the compressor may not activate at all.

A/C Selector Switches

A/C selector switches allow you to adjust the temperature, blower speed, and cabin settings of the A/C and heater. Some selector switches are single-selector switches, and some are multi-function switches designed for specific makes and models. If a switch wears out or fails, the A/C, blower motor, or blend doors may not operate correctly. When this happens, the failing switch will likely need to be replaced, as most switches cannot be repaired.
