2016 Freightliner M2 106 - A/C Discharge Hose
What is an A/C Discharge Hose?
The A/C discharge hose transports hot, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant from the A/C compressor to the A/C condenser. A/C discharge hoses are usually designed with metal fittings at each end and a rubber hose connecting them, and may also include a charging port to allow the A/C system to be diagnosed or serviced. The discharge hose in your A/C system experiences high pressure and high temperatures, and must stand up to these elements every time the A/C system is operating. Over time, the fittings, seals, or the discharge hose itself may deteriorate, crack, or split. This can result in the loss of refrigerant and less cold air from your A/C system. If you notice warm air from the vents when your air conditioning is activated, you may have low refrigerant levels or other problems in the A/C system. Check all the hoses and A/C components for any leaks, clogs, or damage, and replace the A/C discharge hose or other A/C lines and parts if they are leaking or damaged.
