How to Replace the Cabin Air Filter in a 2012 to 2017 Toyota Camry

The cabin air filter in your Toyota Camry helps trap airborne contaminants such as dust, dirt, and debris before they reach your car’s cabin to minimize allergens and supply clean, fresh air to your Camry’s heating and air conditioning systems. Removing and replacing your 2012-2017 Toyota Camry’s cabin air filter is a routine automotive maintenance task that helps improve overall air quality and airflow for a more enjoyable ride. It’s commonly recommended that you change your Toyota Camry’s cabin air filter every 15,000 to 20,000 miles, or annually, but you should consult your Camry’s service manual for exact replacement intervals. You may also need to replace it more frequently if you notice low airflow through the vents or odors in the cabin. Failing to replace your Camry’s cabin air filter can allow the filter to clog, which may result in an odor coming from your car’s cabin vents or affect A/C system performance. Replace the rear panel by sliding the notches on the short end into the slots and snap it into place. Put anything you removed back into the glove box and close it.
