Detailed Description

Carburetor Heat Insulator;

The Edelbrock Square-bore Heat Insulator Gasket number 9266 is designed to prevent percolation on Edelbrock Performer Series carburetors exposed to extreme under hood temperatures. This gasket features an open center which will allow open plenum Torker and Victor style manifolds to seal properly to the carburetor. Prior to installation, check air cleaner-to-hood clearance to ensure that additional height of heat insulator gasket will not cause interference. Remove air cleaner and all attachments to the carburetor such as fuel line, throttle linkage and vacuum lines. Be sure to note the position or tag each piece to facilitate re-installation. Remove the carburetor and set it aside, then remove the old base gasket and any additional plates, such as Edelbrock square-bore adapter number 2732. Remove the short carburetor studs and install the longer studs. Install the number 9265 heat insulator gasket directly against the manifold, then replace the carburetor and all other connections. Note that gasket number 9265 is rigid enough to replace square-bore adapter plate number 2732, if required. Helps Prevents Fuel Percolation. Dual-Plane Low-Rise Intake with 180 Degree Firing Order. Square Bore Applications Only. Comes with Extended carburetor Studs.
