Engine mount technology has evolved throughout the years. Conventional rubber and steel mounts are a thing of the past. Todays mounts are high tech and constructed of the highest quality materials available. Vehicles are now equipped with hydraulic mounts, switchable mounts and even electronically controlled mounts that adapt to driver inputs and road conditions. Corteco offers only OE mounts and mounts made to the precise OE specifications. Because the magnitude and frequency of engine vibration is dependent on the characteristics of each unique vehicle model and even model variants (such as sport, standard, etc.), it's important to use a replacement mount that matches the exact specifications of the original part. Often, aftermarket competitors will substitute less expensive materials, or more basic designs than the original part. It's also common for some aftermarket competitors to offer a single part that covers all variants of a particular vehicle model, rather than offering different parts for each variant to expand their coverage without incurring the additional development costs. These shortcuts lead to a lower vibration damping effect which will be felt inside the vehicle and potentially increase wear to the engine and other components. We recommend inspecting the mounts every 12000 miles and replacing all mounts at 60000 miles.
